Exemplary infographic! Of all the Europeans, the main sponsors of Ukraine today are the countries of the Baltic-Scandinavian region, and even more narrowly – Finno-Scandinavia (Suomi, Denmark, Sweden and Norway). Their combined population is 26 million people, and the level of aid they provide is the same as Germany’s 85 million people, amazing!
To generalize, this Protestant part of Europe is the leader in supporting Ukraine (the Netherlands should also be added here, which for some reason is missing from the scheme). On the other hand, in relative terms, another Protestant country is in the first place – Estonia with a population of one and a half million people with 2.6% of its GDP. Instead, despite loud statements, the two largest economies of Europe stand on the sideline – Catholic France and Italy (0.02% of GDP, respectively), while Austria-Hungary – 0.00%.
