Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that neither he nor any other official representative of Armenia will ever visit Belarus while Alexander Lukashenko is the leader of this country.
Pashinyan said this in the parliament on Thursday, News.am quotes him.
Speaking about the difficult relations between Armenia and the CSTO, the Armenian Prime Minister recalled the statement of the Belarus leader.
“One of the leaders of the CSTO states says that he participated in the preparation of the 44-day war, encouraged, believed and wished for the victory of Azerbaijan. After that, I have to discuss something with the leader of Belarus in the CSTO format?” Pashinyan said.
At the same time, he noted that within the framework of the CIS and EAEU, he would in some sense, be forced to cooperate with the leader of Belarus.
“But I declare that from now on, I will not go to Belarus. While President Alexander Lukashenko is in power in Belarus. And in general, I declare that from now on, no official representative of Armenia will go to Belarus,” Pashinyan promised.
The day before, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan assured that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan did not talk about Yerevan leaving the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Earlier, when asked by an opposition deputy about the possibility of leaving the CSTO, Pashinyan said that some members of this alliance did not fulfil their contractual obligations and “planned a war against us together with Azerbaijan.” “We will leave (the CSTO. – Ed.), we will decide when,” the Prime Minister of Armenia added.
Last month, he said that at least two member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were helping Azerbaijan prepare for a war against Armenia that began in 2020.
