Both Ukraine and the Russian Federation work with nations enslaved by the empire. But there is a nuance.
A “special Buryat battalion” was formed in the Russian Federation. Buryats in the occupying army is not a new story, the Russians destroy everyone who did not flee to Mongolia, and the size of this emigration is impressive. Citizens of the DPRK staff this battalion. That is, in fact, another enslaved nation in the hands of their own dictator.
18 North Koreans from the “Buryat” battalion had already escaped when the positions of our army were nearby. I am not surprised that enslaved people are fleeing the ranks of the imperial army. It is desirable that as much and as far as possible.
In our case, things are exactly the opposite: in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are formations created from representatives of the enslaved nations of the Russian Federation. These are people who escaped from Russia to join our army. Buryats, Chechens, Ingush and representatives of other enslaved nations voluntarily defend the freedom of our country. And your freedom too.
Our TSC for working with enslaved nations has several key goals:
– to show the world how many non-Russians suffer from Russia’s imperial policy,
– promote the decolonization of these ethnic groups,
– to help volunteers to join the Ukrainian army
– to form our policy on working with enslaved nations.
A little more than a year has passed and we have made progress in all directions, we work with experts, and we communicate with representatives of enslaved nations. And with those who are in Ukraine, abroad, are in our army or work underground.
It’s time to officially restart the work of the TSC because the commission term has expired. Together with Maria Mezentseva, they submitted to the Council a draft resolution on the restart of TSK (actually, the continuation of operations).
Our law on the state policy of interaction with the enslaved nations of the Russian Federation has been ready since the summer. We are still waiting for consideration in the Council and support from Andrij Sybiha and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine / MFA of Ukraine. It is time to start work in this direction. The Russian Federation does not decolonize itself.
