Anti-imperial Block of Nations

Russian opposition politician and journalist Ihor Yakovenko explained why the collapse of Russia as a single state is much better for the world and Russians themselves than the continued existence of the Russian Federation

He made the corresponding statement at the XIII Forum of Free Russia, which took place on 4-5 October 2024 in Vilnius (Lithuania).

“The current governors, the current heads of administrations would be happy to become heads of individual republics or local khans, rather than continue to go to the Old Square and listen to some petty clerk from the president’s administration,” the oppositionist said.

According to Yakovenko, he is “absolutely convinced” of the “historical inevitability of the collapse of Russia”, which will begin after the defeat of the Russian Federation in the war of aggression against Ukraine.

“This is an obvious fact for me. This is the first. This is an expert assessment. From the point of view of public opinion, I think Russia’s collapse is less of a threat than its existence. The existence of the Russian fascist Reich was the most difficult challenge. This is the most serious threat to humanity today,” the politician said.

“Yes, the disintegration (of the Russian Federation – ed.) can be unpleasant. The collapse of the Soviet Union was not bloodless then either, we know that. But it is less blood. There are already over a million casualties in this war. It is not over yet. And I do not rule out that the continued existence of Putin’s Reich, Putin’s empire will bring more and more troubles. But the disintegration – will most likely be associated with problems, but these problems will be immeasurably smaller than the continued existence of the fascist Reich,” Yakovenko concluded.
