In the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, a presentation of the human rights project “Putin’s Real Prisoners: Political Prisoners of the Enslaved Nations” was held. The project was presented by the President of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, Oleh Medunytsya, together with colleagues from the executive committee of the ABN. The event was organised at the American Science Center, a well-known platform for public discussions in Sofia.
Oleh Medunytsya introduced the Bulgarian journalists and public figures present to the materials of the exhibition of the same name, telling about the stories of political persecution of leaders and activists of national liberation movements of enslaved nations. The participants of the presentation also watched a film about the stories of political prisoners from Chechnya, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Yakutia, Karelia and other regions of the so-called “Russian Federation”.
As the co-organiser of the presentation, Bulgarian journalist Daniela Gorcheva, noted: “The discussion on political repressions in Russia was extremely informative and interesting. Today we learned about many facts and important things that we could not have known about. This is a fairly new topic for Bulgaria, but it needs to be publicized. We thank our colleagues from the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations for their consistent work in supporting the Kremlin’s real political prisoners.”
