The organization was formed on the initiative of Circassian emigrants. Ibrahim Yaganov plays a leading role in it. The event itself took place at the site of the NGO “Council of United Cherkessia” (Istanbul, Turkey).
The organization included: President of the World Chechen Congress Dani Teps, Cossack activist Aleksandr Zolotaryov, head of the Stop the Occupation of Karelia organization Dmitriy Kuznetsov, head of the NGO “Nogay El” Anvar Kurmanakayev, president of the NGO “Strong Azerbaijan” Azer Aliyev, president of the NGO “Krugly” Table – Free Caucasus” Lado Gamsakhurdia, President of the Circassian Congress Kase Kik, President of the NGO “Dagestan National Center” Jabrail Mirzoyev, President of the NGO “Free Cherkessia” Ibrahim Yaganov, Prime Minister of the Government of Independent Tatarstan in Exile Rafis Kashapov, Chairman of the People’s Representatives Committee moksha Donisi Chovganon, representative of Chuvashia Mikhail Oreshnikov, representative of Pomeranian Byarmia Mikhail Gradov.
It is interesting that the presentation of the Alliance took place physically in Turkey (May 9, 2023): most of the participants gathered in a conference hall in Istanbul, the rest spoke remotely via video link. The fact is that Turkey is very wary of anti-Moscow initiatives and is very reluctant to provide a platform for various kinds of national activists to speak. However, the organizers managed to find a common language with MIT.
From the Ukrainian side, the presentation of the Alliance was attended (by video link): Dmytro Korchynskyi from the Brotherhood party, who stated that “the key to disintegration is the Caucasus and it is from this region that everything will begin” and Pavlo Zhovnirenko, adviser to the secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine (who spoke privately , without position). Zhovnirenko noted that there is an international legal basis for the decolonization of the Russian Federation — the UN Charter and the United Nations Declaration on Granting Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
The event took place rather in the format of a conference with short reports by strangers. In addition to emigrants from the Russian Federation, he was visited by several figures of the Circassian communities in Turkey, for whom a translator worked (from Russian to Turkish). In total, 10-12 people were present in the hall.
The reports differed significantly from each other not only in structure and content, but also in key priorities. The host did not know the names of many of the speakers and it seemed that the appearance of certain characters was a surprise for the host (Ibrahim Yaganov) himself.
However, the conference demonstrated not only the ambitions, but also the organizational abilities of the Circassians, their connections and opportunities in Turkey. It must be admitted that today, apart from the Circassians, literally several national movements of peoples enslaved by Moscow can organize such an event.
