At the same time, almost every day I receive messages from compatriots in Kalmykia with observations about the mood in the region. The recent coup attempt by Wagner, I was told, was received positively by the people. I believe that it is precisely such an apathetic, discouraged and unpretentious society that may well accept as a fact the emergence of “decolonizers” and freedom fighters in power”.
