Back in 2007, the then Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev promised to complete the gasification of the country within ten years. Since then, 27% of Russians have continued to heat their homes with coal and firewood. Since the beginning of the large-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, the same figure has threatened European countries, which were key exporters of Russian gas, with a global freeze and declared: “Someone is switching to coal and firewood, but it’s not us.” At the same time: Jewish Autonomous Oblast – 40% of households use furnace heating; Altai Krai – 39%, Buryatia – 43%, Transbaikal Krai – almost 50%, Tuva – almost 90%.
22.6% of Russians do not even have access to centralized sewage and use cesspools. 18.4% of the inhabitants of the villages do not have any sewage at all. Even in cities, in apartment buildings, almost 10% do not have access to sewage.
About 12.6% of Russians do not have toilets in their apartment or house.
But let’s go back to gas. For many years, the Kremlin regime earned excess profits by mercilessly exploiting non-renewable natural resources. Officials and state oligarchs have made fabulous fortunes, while every fourth household in Russia has no gas supply.
The situation in the gas-bearing regions of Siberia is even more catastrophic. In the three federal districts of Russia located beyond the Urals, in which 36 million people live, only 16% of residents have gas. There is no gas even in cities with millions, such as Krasnoyarsk. Also in the largest Buryat city of half a million, Ulan-Ude. The Irkutsk region has gas connections by as much as 1%. Half of the Amur region does not even have prospects for a gas supply connection, because it does not even have a main gas pipeline. The other part is in the plans from the Bar arm (the western part of the region and the central part to Blagovishchensk) and in the future can be connected to the “Power of Siberia-1” gas pipeline, which is an energy donor to China. Now the Kremlin elite is trying to launch another new gas line to China, “Power of Siberia-2”, to at least somehow replace the flow of euros with gas yuan due to the reduction of gas supplies to Europe.
China, which understands Russia’s critical dependence on itself, is in no hurry to invest in this dubious project. Therefore, the regime will have to sequester social spending and extract at least another 13.6 billion dollars from the pockets of residents, connecting a gas supply to Chinese citizens through a 2,600 km long pipeline.
However, in the future, Russians are not looking to connect the gas supply but to disconnect gas, even in those regions where part of the population has access to gas. For example, amid January frosts, gas supply disruptions began in Chita. Residents of freezing apartments are convinced that the crisis has come about because of sabotage on the Baikal-Amur highway on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. The best agent of Kyiv turned out to be Winter, which came unexpectedly at the end of December, and corruption and embezzlement of budget funds, which led to a critical emergency. Therefore, part of the residents of Chita met the new year in conditions of global glaciation. Liquefied carbon dioxide, which is used for heating in Chita, is afraid of frost, and even when additives are used, it can freeze at a temperature of -26 degrees. The last time the gas infrastructure of Chita was globally formed was during the times of the Soviet Union. But it’s good that there are Ukronazis on whom you can blame your own greed and predatory attitude towards regions with natural mineral reserves. Well, of course, the servile treatment of Tsar Putin is the only thing that the Chittins were able to demonstrate in response to the bestial attitude towards them…
