From an article by candidate of political sciences, political observer Alexander Zhelenin in Republic magazine.
For the period from 2002 to 2020 the number of the largest non-Russian people of Russia — the Tatars (in this case we are talking only about the Tatars of the Kama region and the Middle Volga) decreased by more than 840 thousand people from 5.6 million in 2002 to 4.7 million in 2020 or more than 15%.
During the same period, the number of Bashkirs decreased by 101.5 thousand people, from about 1.7 million to about 1.6 million, or by 6%.
Mordva (yes, while official statistics use this term) in 2002 – 843 thousand, in 2020 – 484.5 thousand people (a decrease of 42.5%).
Mari in 2002 – 604 thousand, in 2020 – about 424 thousand (a decrease of almost 30%).
Udmurts in 2002 – 637 thousand, in 2020 – about 387 thousand (39% reduction)
Chuvash in 2002 – 1 million 637 thousand, in 2020 – not much more than 1 million (a decrease of almost 35%).
Russian history goes in circles, only with each such circle of indigenous nations it becomes less and less. When will we finally be able to break this vicious circle and this vicious state?
