The Moscow Times reports this with reference to Rosstat.
Using the same data, it is possible to compile a poverty rating of the regions of the Russian Federation. The poverty line in 2022 was considered to be an income of about $150 per month per person.
The undisputed leaders of this anti-rating are the regions of Siberia and the North Caucasus. Apparently, Moscow treats local residents with special “love”.
At a time when billions of dollars are spent on someone’s castles, yachts abroad and shells for a bloody war, we have regions where every third person is below the poverty line. They are also the basis for recruiting “cannon fodder” into the Northern Military District.
Anti-poverty rating of regions of the Russian Federation:
• Republic of Ingushetia – 29.7% (158,000 people);
• Republic of Tyva – 29.4% (386,200 people);
• Republic of Kalmykia – 22.7% (307,400 people);
• Altai Republic – 22.4% (96,700 people);
• Jewish Autonomous Region – 22.3% (34,300 people);
• Karachay-Cherkess Republic – 22.1% (93,300 people);
• Trans-Baikal Territory – 20% (228,100 people);
• Republic of Buryatia – 19.9% (210,300 people);
• Chechen Republic – 19.9% (363,500 people);
• Kurgan region – 18.5% (367,900 people).
