As soon as they “stop shooting,” regardless of whether it’s a temporary freeze or an attempt to stop the war with some longer-term peace, a war will begin around this war. Informational in form and valuable in content.
In order to correctly explain it, and present it to us and the world. In this confrontation, Russia will try to additionally seize what it failed to achieve with the help of weapons. Therefore, it will launch theses not only about Ukraine’s guilt (this has been going on for a long time), but also about the uselessness of this war, and therefore the futility of losses (human, material, political). They will be directed at us, to demotivate and demobilize Ukrainian society. To break its will to resist, which it was not possible to overcome with armed aggression. They will be launched at our neighbours, to paralyze their actions with messages: if you do not listen to Russia, they will do the same to you, and the West will betray.
It’s a shame, but we’re already hearing similar words from Trump, who talks about a senseless war, emphasizing that if he had led the US, it wouldn’t have happened before.
Whether there will be a war or not, or more precisely when and what kind of war it will be, was decided only by Putin, who sees it as his main mission.
We must continue to explain to ourselves and the world that this is a war for our existence as a separate nation. We are defending an independent state as the optimal form of its existence and our unique culture as the main meaning of its existence.
The significance of this war is global because it is against the fact that anyone in the world can decide the fate of another nation or even the very fact of its existence. And this means that this war is not just NOT meaningless, it is about the most important confrontation in history between freedom (nation and person) and slavery.
This means that our losses were definitely not and will not be in vain. This means that we will not lose this war as long as Ukrainians exist. The entire free world will not lose as long as Ukrainians exist.
This sounds full of pathos. But the scale and significance of this war for us and the world are so significant that they require such an emphatic tone. Moreover, the very lowering of this tone is a way to level our achievements to date, and their global significance—an attempt to destroy with information what was not possible with weapons.
