The basis was the latest trick of the Kremlin, which decided to draw a line on the persecution of Finno-Ugric culture and its bearers, with the opening of the exhibition “Episodes of Finnish Russophobia” at the diplomatic mission of Finland on May 30, 2024. The continuation of the exhibition is available to the general public on Gogolevsky Boulevard.
Event Description
As the organizer of the event, the Russian Military Historical Society, assures, all because of the ambitions of Finland, which wanted to implement its “Greater Finland” project, which included the entire territory of Karelia:
“..THE ASPIRATIONS OF FINNISH SOCIETY EXCEED SIMPLY ESTABLISHING INDEPENDENCE. PLANS Arose FOR THE CREATION OF A “GREAT FINLAND”, WHICH WERE REFLECTED IN THE EVENTS OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY.
THE WELL-KNOWN STATEMENT OF THE FINNISH MARSHAL KARL MANNERHEIM ON JULY 10, 1941, CALLING TO FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM OF KARELIA AND THE GREATNESS OF FINLAND, BECAME A KEY MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF RELATIONS BETWEEN FINLAND AND THE USSR. THE FINNISH ARMY, HAVING ENTERED AN ALLIANCE WITH THE THIRD REICH, DIRECTED ITS FORCES TO THE TERRITORY OF THE SOVIET UNION. HOWEVER, MODERN UNDERSTANDING OF THESE EVENTS INDICATES THAT THE AMBITIONS OF FINNISH SOCIETY EXTENDED FAR BEYOND SIMPLE INDEPENDENCE. THIS IS CONFIRMED BY THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY, WHEN THE PLANS TO CAPTURE NEW TERRITORIES, ORIENTED THEN, FOUND THEIR CONTINUATION IN THE ACTIONS OF THE FINNISH ARMY IN 1941 (HERE MEANS THE “CONTINUATION WAR” (F) IN. JATKOSOTA). ” , – LINK TO SOURCE 1RRE .
