Anti-imperial Block of Nations

More than a dozen folk tales and legends are dedicated to this legendary personality, who possessed powerful strength and supernatural abilities, like the epic heroes of the Kalevala epic. The Rokkach family has long lived in the historical region of Lop Pogosts (Muezersky district of Karelia) in the ancient village of Tiksha. People’s memory honours Ivan Rokkach as the Leader of the Karelian forest partisans who successfully resisted the Swedish troops who carried out military campaigns in Karelia at the turn of the 16th-17th centuries. Rokkach lived a long heroic life and was buried in the ancestral village of Tiksha. The grave of a national hero is still preserved here, a holy place for Finno-Ugric history.
