“Russian community” already in Circassia

The first branches of the nationalist organization opened in Kabardino-Balkaria (Nalchik) and Karachay-Cherkessia (Cherkessk). In Krasnodar Krai and Adygea (Maikop), the “Russian Community” has been functioning for several years. The Russian people are not indigenous to the Northwest Caucasus, but attempts to Russify the region continue. In Krasnodar Krai, the autochthonous population is often called “migrants” or “persons of Caucasian nationality”, as happened, for example, during the mass riots in the village of Afipsky. Some representatives of the “Russian Community” in Adygea use the “Baklanovskoe Banner”, with which Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Imperial Army Yakov Petrovich Baklanov took part in the expedition undertaken to exterminate the Circassian villages between the Psefir, Laba and Belaya rivers.
