Yaroslav Stetsko: Nationalism against Imperialism [1972]

The main enemy of the freedom-loving world, culture and religion, nation and man, freedom of creativity and social justice is Moscow imperialism in its newest form of communism. Using human potential, the economic reservoir and the geopolitical position of the nations enslaved by it in the USSR and in the so-called satellite countries,  at the same time destroying part of the population of the states of the free world with deceptive ideas of communism, materialistic philosophy of life – the insatiable Moscow imperialism is trying to conquer the whole world.

Muscovite imperialism is a historical phenomenon, immanent in the Muscovite nation, completely unrelated to this or that state or socio-political regime. The concept of the “Third Rome”, the defense of “Orthodoxy”, “Panslavism”, the “liberation” of the proletariat of the whole world, the “liberation” of the so-called enslaved nations on this side of the iron curtain, Caesaropapism and the so-called ecumenism of the Russian Orthodox Church, which was and is a tool of the Moscow autocrats, merge into one river of current Moscow imperialism, like deceptive ideas that disguise the naked imperialism-colonialism of Russia. In no oppressed country of our continent has communist power been introduced except by Moscow bayonets or with their help, and in some places also with the help of some Western factors.

Bolshevism is a synthesis of Moscow’s imperialism and communism, which corresponds to the Moscow way of life. Moscow imposes it on other nations by force, as a means and form of domination over them. Moscow imperialism is unique in history because no European imperialism imposed its system of life, its thinking and its beliefs on conquered nations. Muscovites have never fought, and are not fighting, for a long-term division of spheres of influence between the superpowers, but only for the complete conquest of the whole world.

In the face of the bankruptcy of Marxism and its prediction of the seizure of power by the proletariat, the Moscow imperialists, following Lenin’s instructions, modernized the strategy of conquering foreign countries, maintaining the basic means: to gain power by violence. With urban partisanship, gangs (“red army”), robberies and murders, they terrorize the population of various countries and prepare the ground to seize power in their hands.

When in 1959, in Munich, Moscow killed Stepan Bandera, the leader of the revolutionary OUN,  the official West remained silent. When now the gangs of the “Red Army” use murder and terror in Western free countries (which we predicted), the statesmen talk about “anarchists”, not having the courage to name the Moscow fifth column by name.

If we add to this peripheral wars, diverse acts of sabotage, political strikes, a complex of psychological and political warfare, the demoralization of youth, the struggle between patriotism and religion, morality and heroic life within every nation of the free world, then we see that Moscow is already implementing its plans, as an alternative to thermonuclear war. President Nixon, while in Moscow, spoke about the so-called peaceful coexistence, which, allegedly, will save the world from nuclear danger. In fact, for the freedom-loving forces of the world, the only alternative is national liberation revolutions, uprisings of nations enslaved by Moscow imperialism and communism, which will destroy the Moscow empire from the inside and eliminate the communist system, allowing the enslaved nations to become independent and sovereign in their national states.

Imperialism and colonialism are anachronisms, reactionary phenomena of yesterday. Empires are collapsing, and the national principle of organizing human communities is already dominating the world over the imperialist principle. Nation-states become the banner of the era, and empires belong to the past.  The Muscovite Empire (USSR) and its so-called satellites are lost in internal contradictions: on the one hand, we see the onslaught of liberating nationalisms, the juxtaposition of the traditional, freedom-loving, content of life inherent in every nation with the Moscow system of life, with Bolshevism, and on the other hand – Moscow, allegedly, defends anti-colonial ideas and promotes national liberation on the other side of the iron curtain. In the Muscovite Empire (USSR) itself, national oppression, Russification, great-power chauvinism, and unnatural communist totalitarianism are intensifying. But this is a boomerang that hits the very foundations of the Moscow empire. The flight forward of the Moscow imperialists from the internal national liberation revolutionary forces is not proof of their strength, but only a sign of their weakness.

Communism and liberal capitalism are related in that they give primacy not to man, but to technology. The thermonuclear “stalemate” and the simultaneous arms race of nuclear states, of particular importance in the thermonuclear era of insurgent-type wars, put the person and the nation in the foreground, not technology and the empire. Ideas and people are stronger than atomic bombs. The ideological bankruptcy of communism in enslaved nations, the revival of their young generation in the spirit of traditionalism, liberating nationalism and the heroics of life and religion confirm the thesis that communism is failing behind the Iron Curtain, although in some Western countries, spiritual exaggeration is coming. Instead, the struggle of young national forces in Ukraine and other countries enslaved by Moscow is marked by the primacy of spirit over matter.

Denationalization means the de-heroization of life and militant impiety. The forcible denouncing of a person’s religion means deculture, and barbarization of life. Collectivization means the forced resettlement of people from the village to the city, and colonial industrialization leads to the destruction of the traditional structures of the nation and far-reaching catastrophic consequences… Such are the positions of the young generation of Ukraine and other peoples enslaved in the USSR.

Only fair national and social visions and their implementation in the so-called underdeveloped countries, including the elimination of feudalism and the fair distribution of material goods – eliminate Moscow’s internal subversive action, and with it, civil wars.

Communism does not win with its own ideas, but only with violence or stolen ideas. National liberation, a national state, national sovereignty and collegiality, the elimination of feudalism and landlordism, and the transfer of land to private ownership by farmers are anti-communist, not communist, slogans. Bolshevism-Leninism reflects collectivist, herd tendencies, including the atheism of Muscovites, which is confirmed even by the Russian philosopher N. Berdyaev.

Without the realization of the idea of ​​national-state sovereignty of nations (based not on the archaic anti-national administrative principle established by the empires in their colonies, but on the living national-ethnic, historical-traditional principle), without national-social reformation in the newly established states on the ruins of Western empires and elimination of the old feudal system, without the distribution of land for private ownership among farmers and the recognition of peoples’ right to such a state and social system that corresponds to their spirituality – it is difficult to defeat internal communist aggression. So, for example, in Vietnam, Moscow put forward non-communist slogans in a transitional and hideous way – it preaches cathedralism, anti-feudalism, and denies artificial parallels, while the USA defends the “status quo” of the division of the living body of the nation.

The prerequisite for a successful political offensive of the free world is the ideological and moral renewal of the West. Instead of the cult of mammon – there must be the cult of heroic life, instead of the hedonistic content of life – sacrificial service to the community, instead of superficial Christianity – the deep Christianity of neophytes, instead of the cult of the machine – the cult of man, instead of the cult of civilization – the cult of culture, instead of the primacy of matter – the primacy of the spirit, instead of classes exploiters and exploited – a just social order without exploiters and exploited, the primacy of private property of workers and a fair distribution of profits, instead of imperialism – nationalism, instead of trading with tyrants, invading empires and their satellites – material and moral assistance to national liberation movements in their struggle against empires and tyranny, instead of unconventionality – the cult of centuries-old creative traditions and their respect in every nation, instead of the cult of profit – the cult of creative work and self-devotion, instead of atheism – militant Christianity, faith in God, in the supernatural. Instead of focusing on Moscow, as on Mecca – focusing on one’s own capital, on one’s own penates, instead of Marx, Lenin, Freud – Shakespeare, Socrates, Goethe, Shevchenko, Dante, Confucius, Moses…

Moscow’s aggressive military strategy was built based on modern means of warfare during the so-called peaceful coexistence with the West and has visible success outside the Moscow prison of nations and peoples. This is how the Moscow Empire built up its armed forces, including the navy, on the blood, labour and wealth of subjugated peoples, conquering the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean, the former imperial British and French positions, the North Atlantic, the Arctic, the Pacific Ocean, Indo-China, the Indian subcontinent ( with a cunning play from Bangladesh), infiltrates Latin America, Africa, builds its military footholds on different continents, increases the production of strategic weapons, which in a certain sense already exceeds the American one.

However, this arming and occupation of foreign lands reminds us of Hitler’s invasion and… his end. Despite the constant expansion of the boundaries of the Moscow Empire and its sphere of influence, it – like every prison of nations and people – stands on clay feet! Therefore, it is not an immutable reality, but a nation and a person. Not tyranny is the natural law of the life of nations and people, but will and justice! Not militant atheism, but faith in God is eternal! The tragedy of the world is that the leaders responsible for its fate (including some Church leaders) were enveloped in fear of the omnipotence of tyranny, of the power of the Moscow or communist imperialists in general. This is the consequence of a lack of faith in the omnipotence of God’s truth and justice, in their final victory, a consequence of a lack of faith in the indestructibility of the nation, in the indestructibility – without God’s will – of humanity and man, if he (man) will carry out the purpose given to him by God: to serve his Motherland sacrificially, and through her to God. Neither nations, nor people, nor humanity, in general, will ever end up in thermonuclear Armageddon if they fulfill their God-given purpose, God’s commandments – they will live heroically, and they will serve truth and justice. The fate of humanity is not in the hands of Moscow criminals but in the hands of God!

In the end, the development of military equipment reached an absurd point – a “stalemate” between the superpowers. By the will of providence, man and nation come to the decisive word, not technology and empire, not a thermonuclear way of waging war, not a strategic weapon, but a psychological war, an insurgent type of war, the weapon of insurgents and partisans…

The balance of power between the superpowers (the USA, the USSR, China, and now Japan and Western Europe), the imitation of the Matternich system in Europe in the form of a “sacred alliance” as a guarantee of a supposedly lasting, albeit unfair, peace are reactionary and anachronistic phenomena. The USSR and Red China are empires, prisons of nations and people. The concept of “sacred alliance” – the concept of “peace of the dead”, it denies the main superpower – the ideological, moral, political, as well as economic and geopolitical power of enslaved nations and people, denies their right to state independence and sovereignty, denies the spiritual origin, the role of the nation and man in international relations, and takes into account only technology, machinery, capital and technocracy as a decisive force. Such a concept stems from the thesis of thermonuclear “deadlock” and the threat of destroying humanity with atomic weapons, and not from the truth about the need to fight against evil, injustice, slavery, tyranny and slavery under all conditions…

The forgotten superpower is dozens of nations and hundreds of millions of people enslaved by Moscow imperialism and communist godless tyranny. It is she, this superpower, who has the decisive role in arranging the world of tomorrow, and not the technocratic, technological, non-national, despiritualized, communist or capitalist materialistic power. Nation and man, nationalism and the human spirit are the decisive forces of history.

Kossuth defeated Metternich. Chuprinka, Bandera, Maleter [1], Makukh, Palekh, Kalanta [2], Soroka and generally the young generation of fighters of enslaved nations, which in action carries out the ideological and political positions clarified here, will win not only the misalliance of the West with Moscow tyranny, but  will destroy the Moscow empire. In 1947, Moscow created the “Union of Three” (USSR-Czech Republic-PNR) to destroy the UPA, but the rebel armed forces, as a national uprising, lasted until 1953.

The uprising of prisoners in the concentration camps of the USSR (1953-1959) threatened the collapse of the Moscow empire, so Khrushchev saved it by reorganizing the concentration camps and the so-called de-Stalinization.

The spiritual and ideological superpower is tearing apart the technocratic and thermonuclear superpowers from within, in particular the USSR – the Moscow Empire. Thermonuclear power in itself is not evil and only human will, human morality determine its good or criminal use. With the development of thermonuclear weapons, the importance of an armed people, insurgent wars, as the most modern wars adapted to the objective development of humanity, to the present age, in which national ideas win over imperialist and internationalist ideas and at the same time eliminate the means of mass destruction of peoples and people, naturally increases.

National revolutions in the USSR are the only correct concept of enslaved nations. The occupier cannot suppress national uprisings with thermonuclear weapons, because they are double-edged for him, so, he will also die from them. The more strategic weapons and imperial superpowers that neutralize each other to the point of absurdity accumulate, the more the importance of the nation, man, its spirit, faith and heroic life grows. Thus, the decisive role belongs to the concept of insurgent wars, i.e. simultaneous national-liberation coordinated revolutions of enslaved nations.
