The opposition president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, also arrived at Freedom Square. At yesterday’s briefing, the president noted that it is important for people to go out and show their will.
She also called to vote for pro-European opposition parties.
After the speakers’ speeches, a rally concert is planned on Freedom Square, in which several Georgian musicians will take part.
The “Georgia Chooses the EU” march was organized by public activists in response to the de facto suspension of Georgia’s accession to the EU due to government actions.
Almost for the first time in the modern history of Georgia, opposition forces and strategic partners in unison accuse the current government of changing the country’s foreign policy vector and pursuing Russian interests. As a result, the Georgian government received complete international isolation from both the US and the European Union.
