A mercenary from Somalia, who fought on the side of the occupiers, in captivity in the Ukrainian Armed Forces explains the recruitment procedure

The captive says they are fighting for a tourist visa, issued in just a week. They promise a Russian passport and money, huge for his household. At the same time, no one explains to the mercenaries the essence of what is happening: Adil had no idea who was fighting with whom and for what. The training lasted 7 weeks and was very limited. In general: foreign beggars are attracted by promises of big money and “undemanding” work, they quickly slip a contract and are sent to Ukraine with almost no preparation. There, no one asks them what they would like: “They just put a machine gun in their hands and say “Go go go!”. Their squad was thrown to the front line almost immediately, and the interviewer calls these days “real hell”. According to a prisoner of war: “If you get wounded, only God will help you.”
