The Lenin Court of Krasnodar found violinist Marina Nasonova guilty of displaying extremist symbols because of the phrase “Glory to Ukraine.” She was sentenced to 24 hours of administrative arrest, Kavkaz.Realii reports. The ruling states that she works as a principal conductor.
At the end of April, Nasonova published a post “Glory to Ukraine” in the WhatsApp group of the Kuban Symphony Orchestra, according to the protocol. In Russia, this greeting has been declared extremist. In court, Marina Nasonova admitted guilt. The sanctions under the article on displaying extremist symbols provide for a fine of one to two thousand rubles; the court sentenced her to one day of arrest.
The website of the Kuban Symphony Orchestra indicates that Marina Nasonova plays second violin there.
