In the Belgorod region, temporarily occupied by Russia, security forces detained a woman “who was planning to fight against Russia,” TASS reports, citing the regional FSB press service.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 30, Article 275 of the Criminal Code – attempted treason against a Russian woman born in 1994. She attempted to leave for Ukraine to “participate in military operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” the FSB clarified. The maximum penalty under the article on attempted treason is 20 years’ imprisonment.
“The woman established contact via the Internet with one of the representatives of a Ukrainian paramilitary group, banned in Russia, with the aim of joining its ranks,” the security service noted.
Having received recommendations from her supervisor “on the procedure for joining a terrorist organization to participate in illegal activities directed against the Russian Armed Forces,” the woman attempted to cross the state border bypassing the established checkpoints to travel to Ukraine.
This is not the first case of the population preparing for the possible disintegration of Russia through armed struggle against the Kremlin.
