The security situation in Iran is rapidly deteriorating amid large-scale anti-government protests that have swept dozens of cities across the country. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is urging citizens to immediately leave Iran, warning of the risks to life and health. According to human rights activists, the death toll and the number of detainees are in the tens and thousands, and in some cities there are signs of loss of control by the central government. The protests, which began due to the economic crisis and the collapse of the national currency, are increasingly taking on a political character. Against the backdrop of internal instability, international tension around Iran is also growing.
