It is interesting to observe how the performance was played out with the planned arrival of Putin.
Events took place in Baymak that spread throughout the world. As a result of these events, a criminal case for mass riots was opened against almost 50 people for the first time in Russia. But presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there were no riots. President Vladimir Putin generally ignored these events. The Bashkir population blames Khabirov for everything, that it was his cruel and inept policy that led to all these results.
Now the flywheel of events and repressions is spinning ever stronger. Among the protesters there are dead and maimed, there are quite harsh appeals and there are demands for Khabirov to leave from the Bashkir public and intelligentsia. But no one blames the Kremlin and Putin for this; on the contrary, everyone sees him as the last hope, as expressed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Alfiya Sultanova. Appeals to Putin and Bortnikov are coming one after another.
In the end, Putin responded, but not to the request of the Bashkirs, but to the request of Radiy Khabirov.
The performance was played out like clockwork. Khabirov participated in such an ordinary event as the opening of student campuses in Russia. Everything happened online. Of all the regions that also participated in this event, Putin himself addressed Khabirov, giving him the floor. Khabirov, in his address to Putin, seemed to take advantage of the moment and invited him to visit Bashkortostan. And Putin unexpectedly agreed.
It should be noted that before this, Putin had never come to Bashkortostan at Khabirov’s request and treated him rather coldly. And then suddenly, after such events in Baymak, he expressed his affection for Khabirov and agreed to come to the republic.
This all says only one thing: Putin wants to give support to Khabirov and he didn’t care about the appeals of the Bashkortostan people to him. He knows perfectly well about everything that is happening now in the republic and this situation he is not on the side of the people.
Yes, of course, he will remove Khabirov from his post as soon as his term ends, but he will not yield to pressure from the population of the republic.
Will this be a lesson for naive Bashkirs?
I think not, although maybe someone’s eyes will be opened to the real state of affairs in the country. Bashkirs must go through repression, humiliation and complete disregard for their rights to finally realize that this regime does not care about us.
They don’t need us as a strong and freedom-loving people, they need us as a slavish, obedient population and as a common expendable material in their geopolitical plans.
As the famous journalist Maxim Kurnikov said, the Bashkirs must go through their 1905 year. Then, let me remind you, the Russian people, taking icons and banners, went in procession to their Father the Tsar to ask him for help. He responded by shooting the entire procession, which ultimately resulted in a powerful uprising in 1905.
Therefore, until the Bashkirs realize that we can only rely on ourselves and an alliance with other self-sufficient nations, we will not achieve the independence of Bashkortostan. And without independence, we are doomed in this empire to complete assimilation and extinction.
