Gennady Gudkov and Yulia Latynina represent different currents of the Russian opposition and advocate for changes in the current government, but they agree with each other and with Putin on one thing: their imperial views, which are the root of all problems.
They publicly justify colonialism and claim that any structure that even remotely defends international law, human rights, children’s rights, or the right of peoples to self-determination is hostile to the Kremlin, created for the purpose of dismantling the empire it built. This is essentially true, as empires simply cannot exist in a legal world, since their foundation is the disenfranchisement and oppression of many nations.
