Due to the transfer of hostilities by the Ukrainian military to the territory of the Kursk region, the Russians are currently conducting more shelling on their territory than on the Sumy region.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Siversk operational-tactical group, Vadym Mysnyk, on the air of the telethon Edyni novyni.
“The transfer of hostilities by the Defence Forces of Ukraine to the territory of the Kursk region is being signalled, and the enemy is changing both the nature of these attacks and their structure. Most of them are forced to carry out shelling on their own territory, in their own settlements,” he said.
According to Mysnyk, during the last day, Russian troops dropped 13 guided air bombs on the territory of the Sumy region, while 31 anti-aircraft missiles were fired in the Kursk region, which the Defence Forces control.
The day before yesterday, the enemy used 17 anti-tank missiles in Sumy Oblast and 21 anti-aircraft missiles in the territory of Kursk Oblast.
As the spokesman noted, the enemy began to mine the border areas and actively build fortifications. He emphasized that the Ukrainian troops are in constant combat readiness.
According to him, an effective defence system has been created on the northern border, which is aimed at countering sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and at the maximum destruction of Russian units approaching the border.
On 21 September, the General Staff reported that the operation of the Armed Forces in Russia’s Kursk region is ongoing – since the beginning of the day, the Russians have struck the region with 12 anti-aircraft missiles.
