One of the main tasks of the OUN was the preservation and development of the idea of national liberation, the training of personnel and the creation of various social and political structures. With the establishment of independence, many members of the OUN, who returned from exile, actively joined the state-building processes and revived their structures under the leadership of Zenoviy Krasivskyi in the form of front structures, political parties, or public organizations. History has shown that the OUN remained the only political force that represented the Ukrainian nation and managed to lead its struggle for freedom and the development of an independent state. Without a doubt, OUN can be called the most successful political project in Ukrainian history.
