A 48-year-old native of Chechnya, Ali Viskhadzhiev, is the head of the Kafkasder association of Caucasian diasporas in Turkey. Representatives of different nations turn to him for help, if necessary, to communicate with local authorities. After the outbreak of the armed conflict in Chechnya in the 90s, Viskhadzhiev left his studies at the Sverdlovsk Institute and participated in hostilities against Russia. He came to Turkey in 2006, and ten years later he began public, human rights work.
