Anti-imperial Block of Nations

The nations of Siberia have remained victims of the Kremlin’s colonial policy for centuries. In particular, the Sakha, Evenki, Yukagirs, Chukchi and Dolgans. From the moment of the conquest of these nations, Moscow plundered everything that was of any value. The invaders imposed taxes on the people – they paid the Moscow treasury in furs, men were used as labour force, women were raped, and children were forcibly baptized and given “Russian” names.

In the new episode of the “National Treasures” programme with host Denis Pokhila, find out how the Sakhas fought the colonialists, what particularly cruel methods Moscow used to suppress protests, and what fate the descendants of ancient people wish for their children.
