On the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn spoke from the rostrum of the Parliament with a speech about nations that have yet to gain their own statehood. Tatarstan, Ichkeria, Adygea, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Chuvashia, Tuva, Yakutia, Buryatia, Oirad-Kalmykia, Ingushetia, Erzyan Mastor and other individual republics or regions inhabited mainly by indigenous people, not Russian invaders. These are the nations that deserve to be independent from the Russia’s prison of nations.
“More than 30% of the population of Russia is not “Russian”, – emphasized Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, – the Russian Federation in its current temporary borders is inhabited by dozens of different peoples, including indigenous peoples, who were under the Russian yoke. And the representatives of some of them even chose to fight on the side of Ukraine, and not to turn into package troops of Russia. This is a clear indicator that they are ready to fight for freedom.”
“I had many meetings with natives of the Caucasus and other regions and heard more than once about their pain that their land is under Russian rule,” the people’s elected official emphasized. – Therefore, I initiate the creation of a temporary special commission to develop our state policy regarding the Nations enslaved by Russia. We already have representatives of most factions, so next week we will start registration. I am convinced that our chances of breaking this prison of nations will increase if we act together.”
