On the night of 20 April, several important infrastructure facilities were damaged in 8 regions of Russia. Attacks on the hydrocarbon industry could lead to the collapse of Russia.
This opinion was expressed by Roman Svitan, a reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an instructor pilot and a military expert, in the daily report on Channel 24, noting that this industry is what keeps the Russian economy going. He also explained the impact that hitting power plants would have on Russia.

What can destroy Russia
Svitan is convinced that the night attack on the infrastructure facilities of the aggressor country is a continuation of actions initiated by the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Security Service of Ukraine. The continuation of such operations may lead to the termination of Russia’s receipt of external financing.
In addition, there are many mechanisms for this, starting with drones and even sabotage and reconnaissance groups, which can also work in this direction.
“It is these actions that will lead to the collapse of Russia, as they once led to the collapse of the Soviet Union into republics – the same actions, only external: a decrease in the price of oil, a decrease in domestic financing and Moscow’s inability to finance the colonies. The same scenario will be in Russia presently, that means, the destruction of the hydrocarbon industry will lead to the impossibility of Moscow being able to finance the colonies it has seized over the past 100 years,” the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces assumed.
What is the effect of strikes on enemy power plants
Power stations in the Kaluga and Bryansk regions of Russia were also hit that night. Such hits are important because all enemy military facilities are fed by civilian infrastructure. This makes any such object a legitimate military target.
The further continuation of such operations will make it possible to reduce the military production of equipment and ammunition for the front and, accordingly, reduce the number of our soldiers killed,
Svitan noted.
That is, it is an asymmetric strike that will help us save the lives of our defenders.
What is known about strikes on Russian infrastructure
- The day before, Kyrylo Budanov announced that he has a plan to defeat Russia. It envisages the reduction of Russian potential and covers various aspects. In particular, military facilities and industry, command posts of the enemy.
- Oleksandr Lytvynenko, Secretary of the NSDC, emphasized that strikes on Russian refineries and airfields are a key part of Ukraine’s strategy. They limit Vladimir Putin’s room for manoeuvre.
- The night of 20 April in Russia seemed extremely restless. The Russian Ministry of Defence said that they shot down drones in 8 regions: Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Smolensk, Ryazan, Kaluga and Moscow.
