The Soviet District Court of Ufa found Ruslan Gabbasov guilty of publishing unmarked information about a “foreign agency” (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
Kommersant writes about this with reference to the press service of the district court.
The reason for the investigation was the publication of a message in the Telegram channel, about the leader of the Bashkir national liberation movement Zaki Validi.
Ruslan Gabbasov did not participate in the court hearing. In the fall of 2021, he left Russia. A year later, the Russian Ministry of Justice added him to the list of individuals-foreign agents.
- Earlier, Bashkir national activists led by political emigrant Ruslan Gabbasov announced the creation of a “liberation army” based on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Idel.Realii also reported on the program “Action Plan at Hour X”, compiled by the Bashkir National Political Center in the event of the destabilization of power in Russia. This organization is also headed by Ruslan Gabbasov, who was forced to leave Bashkortostan and Russia due to political persecution. Russian authorities accuse Gabbasov of “justifying terrorism” and “organizing the extremist community Bashkort.” The Supreme Court of the Republic banned the activities of the Bashkort organization in 2020.
Ruslan Gabbasov commented on this news succinctly and unambiguously:
“I don’t recognize the laws of this bloody empire, and I consider all its leadership illegitimate and criminal.”
