As reported by Ukrinform, this was stated by “Crimean Solidarity”.
“The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol sentenced the former Imam of the mosque in the village of Lobanovo, Remza Kurtnezirov, to house arrest. He will be under arrest until May 4, like the other four residents of Bakhchasaray and Dzhankoy, who were detained yesterday, March 5, and sent to the pre-trial detention centre,” the message reads.
According to lawyer Safia Shabanova, Kurtnezirov has several serious illnesses, which is why he cannot be sent to custody. In particular, he has been diagnosed with a third-degree hypertensive disease, and there are also consequences of cerebrovascular disease (pathology related to the brain). In addition, Kurnezirov suffered three strokes and suffers from diabetes.
The court took all these diseases into account and chose house arrest for the former Imam.
