Details: Sergo Hornakashvili, who was from the village of Omalo in the Akhmet municipality, died in the direction of Kharkiv.
The Georgian volunteer played for the Ukrainian football club “Kolos” from Velika Dymerka, Kyiv region, according to the Facebook page of FC “Kolos”.
On 7 May, the Ukrainian volunteer unit “Black Eagle” reported the death of two of its fighters from Georgia – Davyd Hogadze and Beso Lomidze.
Many Georgian volunteers have been fighting in Ukraine since the very first days of the full-scale Russian invasion. According to unconfirmed information by “Echo of the Caucasus”, their number reaches 1,500.
On the side of Ukraine, Georgian fighters fight, in particular, as part of four divisions – “Georgian Legion”, “Caucasian Legion”, “Tbilisi” and “Black Eagle”. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, more than 60 Georgian soldiers are known to have died.
Before that, it became known that Soso Hugutishvili, a fighter of the Georgian volunteer unit “Black Eagle”, died in the Avdiiv region.
