Sports and physical development have always played a leading role in the life of Chechen society. This was due to historical processes that have accompanied our people for many centuries.
However, over a long historical period, even though there were strong athletes in the Chechen environment, we could not freely develop in many sports and also had practically no opportunity to compete in international competitions under the national flag.
The same tendency is observed at present. Our athletes become champions, but they have to perform under the flags of different countries and in most cases under the flag of the country that occupied the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
In this regard, the restoration of the National Olympic Committee would play an exceptionally positive role for our people in the development of physical culture and sports and the further expansion of contacts with international sports institutions. This would also meet the interests of the government policy of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria abroad.
Based on the above, guided by Articles 79, 80, and 81 of the Constitution of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, the Cabinet of Ministers of the CRI
Resolves:
1. To restore the National Olympic Committee of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, which was forced to suspend its activities as a result of military actions, within the structure of the Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
2. Appoint Lom-Ali Isaev as Chairman
Olympic Committee of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
3. The Chairman of the Olympic Committee of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (L. Isaev) shall work out a mechanism for the restoration of the National Olympic Committee and submit a plan for its approval.
4. Control over implementation shall be assigned to the State Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (A. Ortakhanov).
5. The resolution comes into force on the day of its signing.
