The world awaits great changes as a result of Russia’s collapse. New independent states will emerge, and many colonised nations will finally gain freedom. Bashkortostan has undoubtedly long had the right to independence, and as soon as the opportunity arises, we will seize it.
We have no right to make another mistake under the guise of agreements or treaties with Moscow or any other Russian centre.
We are not Russians, we are Bashkorts. We have nothing in common with Russians. We have a different culture, language, religion, mentality, and even appearance. Throughout the centuries of Russian occupation, we have been subjected, and continue to be subjected, to discrimination, genocide, and repression.
All those Bashkirs who try to keep us within Russia, convincing us that we are better off this way, that we will perish without a “Russian big brother,” that we are incapable of building our own independent state—they are all enemies of the Bashkir people, who have sold out our nation for a cozy chair or crumbs from Moscow’s table.
We have the right to independence and we will definitely achieve it!
