The Council of the Belarusian People’s Republic regularly warned the Western world that ignoring the problems of Belarus would inevitably lead to the establishment of a Russian military presence on the territory of the country, the purpose of which would be a threat to Europe and the whole world.
Today, this prediction came true once again – an agreement was signed between Moscow and Minsk on the placement of non-strategic (that is, tactical) Russian nuclear weapons in storage facilities on the territory of Belarus.
The Council of the BNR draws attention to the fact that there is no legitimate government in Belarus — Lukashenka is a usurper who, like his appointees, has no right to make decisions for the Belarusian people.
The current decision of Moscow and Minsk puts Belarusians at risk not only of a retaliatory nuclear strike, but also of a preventive nuclear strike – for the first time since the existence of the USSR.
The Council of the Belarusian People’s Republic calls on the governments and parliaments of democratic countries to support the Belarusian people in their struggle against the Putin-Lukashenka occupation.
