The Constitutional Court of Romania has decided to annul the results of the first round of the presidential election, Digi24 reports, citing official sources. This means that the entire electoral process will be restarted in full. The government will set a new date for the Romanian presidential election, as well as a set of measures necessary for this. This decision is final and binding.
On 5 December, Romania’s National Security Council released classified materials showing a large-scale Russian campaign in support of far-right presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, which included cyberattacks and manipulation of social media algorithms.
